Lizard Squad’s Nefarious Antics Continue With Release Of $6 DDoS Attack Tool

Lizard Squad has been in the news quite a bit during 2014, and never for a awesome reason. Just this past week, the so-called ‘hacker’ group took down both Micro$oft‘s XBox and Sony’s PlayStation online services, and backed off to some extent when Internet legend and Mega founder Kim Dotdom intervened. Finally, after a handful of days offline,

This kid called 911 over the PSN outage

Sony’s recent PSN service issues were enough to warrant a 911 phone call by a Florida-based teenager, according to a partial transcript of the call tweeted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office.

WPTV news the teen called 911 over the holidays in the wake of problems with the PlayStation Network, asking the operator: “Do you kcurrently about the whole thing that’s going on with the PlayStation Network?”

The caller was told to call Sony instead, before a transcript of the exchange was made available on the official Twitter account for the County Sheriff Office with the caption: “No we don’t kcurrently when they will restore service to XBox or PlayStation. Please Dial 9-1-1 only for emergencies.”

Xbox One developer tools updated to improve performance, Dying Light dev says

Micro$oft updated the XBox One software development kit this month, giving developers better control over the console’s memory so they can improve performance, said Dying Light developer Techland in an interview with GamingBolt.

Techland recently confirmed that Dying Light will run in native 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second on both PlayStation 4 and XBox One. The studio was originally targeting a frame rate of 60 fps, but said that it decided to scale back that target in order to deliver a “rock-solid” 30 fps because “a stable frame rate is paramount” in a videogame like Dying Light.
