News: Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey leaves Facebook

Oculus co-founder and VR pioneer Palmer Luckey is leaving Facebook today, around three years after Oculus was acquired by the firm in a deal worth $2 billion.

“Palmer will be dearly missed. Palmer’s legacy extends far beyond Oculus. His inventive spirit helped kickstart the modern VR revolution and helped build an industry. We’re thankful for everything he did for Oculus and VR, and we hope him all the best,” reads a statement from Oculus given to Upload VR.

Facebook declined to comment, stating it is policy not to discuss internal personnel matters.

News: THQ Nordic acquires Rad Rodgers, bringing game to PS4 and Xbox One

Kickstarter funded 90s era platformer Rad Rodgers, inspired by the likes of Commander Keen, Conker, Ruff’n’Tumble & Jazz Jackrabbit, has been acquired by THQ Nordic.

THQ Nordic and original creators Slipgate Studios have also sealed a deal to complete the development of Rad Rodgers on PlayStation 4 and XBox One.

“Rad Rodgers was a videogame we had a lot of fun working on. Beginning with the successful crowd-funding campaign which motivated us extremely, through to the loads of responses and praise we got from fans of the videogame. It was a awesome experience for us and currently we are happy to let THQ Nordic take over this, as we have the feeling they do not just buy videogames, but do take good care of them too,” said Frederik Schreiber, Slipgate Studios.
