News: Latest Agents of Mayhem trailer features, inevitably, David Hasselhoff and cars

Agents of Mayhem Screenshots

The latest trailer for Agents of Mayhem, an upcoming action-adventure set in the Saints Row universe, goes full Knight Rider and shows of high powered cars with on board AI. This is accompanied by a voice over from David ‘The ‘Don’t Hassle the Hoff’ Hoff’ Hasselhoff.

Given the extremely 80s action vibe of literally every other trailer for Agents of Mayhem, this move seemed inevitable.

Agents of Mayhem is out on August 18 for XBox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

News: Need For Speed teases skyline shot that some people think is Seattle but is actually Las Vegas

need for speed vegas

Update: We just posted this and then saw the Need For Speed account has also just teased a name reveal for later this week. Cheers, everyone.

The official Need For Speed Twitter account yesterday posted ‘Let’s get this party started shall we?’ along with an image of a skyline obscured by cloud. Prevailing opinion is that this is a teaser for the location of the next Need for Speed videogame, and that it is of Seattle.

People think it’s Seattle because one of the things you can clearly make out on the right is a tower, and everyone kcurrentlys about the Space Needle in Seattle, if only because Frasier is endlessly repeated on Channel 4. Here’s a desaturated version of the image helpfully posted by another user.

News: Leaked Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite starting roster cuts some big names

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Screenshots

What is claimed to be the full starting roster for the upcoming Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite has leaked onto NeoGAF. If accurate, it reveals some big names haven’t made the cut for the base roster.

The X-Men are out on their ear, along with Capcom faves like Wesker and Jill from Resident Evil, C. Viper from Street Fighter, and Phoenix Wright from, um, Phoenix Wright. The Marvel side has been fleshed out with characters like Ant-Man and Gamora, who are recogniseable from the more recent Marvel movies.

The info was shared by Ryce, a user who has been leaking accurate information on the videogame for some time currently. Ryce also posted a list of characters gained and lost from the previous MvC videogame, for comparison.

News: Assassin’s Creed: Origins lead character and logo leaked thanks to some t-shirts

Assassin's Creed Origins t-shirt

This is a new one. Ubisoft could have had its Assassin’s Creed protagonist, and logo for the upcoming sequel, prematurely revealed via a print on a t-shirt.

The image above was first posted to AC Facebook fan page Le Verità dell’Animus before finding its way onto every forum, and social media platform, imaginable. It looks to be a man named Ba Yek who has a shield in one hand, and crossbow in the other.

Through sources at Ubisoft, Comic Book is reporting that the next AC videogame will indeed be called Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The new logo can be seen in the photos over here.

News: Sonic Mania release date announced along with brand new trailer

Sonic Mania Screenshots

Sega has officially announced that Sonic Mania will be out on PC, PlayStation 4, XBox One, and Nintendo Switch, on August 15. This confirms what was spotted on the videogame’s Steam page at the tail-end of last week.

Sonic Mania will retail at £14.99/$19.99/€19.99, but if you get your pre-order in currently, you can get a 10% discount on the modern day Mega Drive title.

Originally slated for a March release but delayed to allow for more development time, Sonic Mania is the brainchild of PagodaWest Games and Headcannon who have ported classic Hedgehog videogames to various platforms. It will see Sonic, as well as series stalwarts Knuckles and Tails, race across a mix of old and new levels, with none of that pesky 3D carry-on that old school Sonic fans generally don’t get on with.

No PlayStation stage appearance this year.

News: Thimbleweed Park now has an option to turn off ‘annoying in-jokes’

thimbleweed park

Thimbleweed Park, the old school-esque adventure videogame from former Lucasarts folks Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, currently has an option to remove ‘annoying in-jokes’ from the videogame, as reported by Siliconera.

The ‘annoying in-jokes’ are all the gags that make reference to previously released adventure videogames from Lucasarts, as well as some meta jokes about developers, or the fact characters are in a video videogame.

This move is understandable in someways as many younger players could not have even been alive when the likes of Maniac Mansion was first out. But, if you are one of the more senior players that enjoy the private jokes, you can leave it turned on. Everyone’s happy.

The first three DLC characters for Injustice 2 are coming in June as part of Fighter Pack 1: Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat, Starfire, and Red Hood. Warner Bros. and NetherRealm has released a trailer showing off some of Batman’s former protégé in action.

For those who are unaware, Red Hood is Jason Todd who was once Robin before perennial bould pup The Joker killed him. Thankfully for Todd, The Lazarus Pit brought him back to life and Todd took on a new persona.

In the video below you can see a lot of Todd’s gunplay, as well as what looks to be his Super as current Robin takes a hammering.
